Igbo (Agbogo Mmwo) mask

The maiden spirit Helmet Mask, voluminous headdresses of the Ikorodo in southern Nigeria. This African Igbo mask glorifies youth and beauty with narrow eyes slits, white black coated features, scarification and tattoos.

The headdress is composed of several smaller statues and masks. These spirit maiden mask are worn by men during festive ceremonies and funerals.
